Hello Parents,
In Math, we learned about data handling. We learned how to solve problems by collecting data and organizing it in a way which was easy to read and understand. We had a great time conducting surveys among our peers and using different types of graphs to represent the information. We also applied our knowledge of graphs to ask and answer interpretive questions about data.
In Unit of Inquiry, we inquired about the world's major biomes. We organized information from visuals about these biomes and examined their key features and climate zones. We were able to observe and describe how different biomes supported different varieties of organisms. In addition, we had a great time working with our peers to design a travel brochure featuring some of the major biomes of the world.
In English, we continued to make connections between personal experiences and storybook characters. We also focused on writing conventions with main emphasis on understanding sentence order. Later on in the week, we worked cooperatively in groups to explore several sentences, create our own sentences and rearrange their order to make them make sense.
