Term 1 Week 12-13

Dear Parents,

Last week we started to work on our summative assessment for the unit. We planned and designed our inventions by using a variety of materials in the environment. We had a lot of fun researching and studying about famous inventors and scientists so we could brainstorm our own inventions inspired by inventions discussed during the unit. This week we did our presentations and make conclusion on the unit.

                         

                          Franklin created a brewing stand 

Lily invented a portable book. 

Runa invented a medicine jar for young children. 

    

In math, we finished our investigation on capacity. We carried out experiments to devise procedures and formulas for working out volume and capacity. At  the end of the week, we were introduced to the multiplication table. We had a great time reciting the table and working out basic multiplication problems.

In English, we read familiar stories and worked in pairs to carry out a role play based on our perceptions of the story. We came up with own ending, and inserted a few characters we thought would the story more interesting.

In Music, we inquired ways to produce beautiful sounds on the pianica. We practiced to use our mind and body to produce the most favorable musical selections.
