Hello Hello!
This theme was super special because we were able to go out on a field trip for the very first time after COVID. We were able to put what we have learned in the classroom out in the real world. Students were very excited to make a difference in our community.

UOI
Our biggest focus this unit was to learn about the impact that people have in our community. We learned 5 different key words this unit: peace, fear, solution, compromise, and appreciation. We discussed as a class how everyone expresses their fears and appreciation in different ways.
For our summative assessment we used ICT time as well to make our very own first poster! At the same time we used UOI time to prepare for our celebration of learning. Hopefully you will enjoy and learn at the same time!
Math
For math we learned about different types measurements and distances. Here you can see we are trying to measure our classroom using our feet. Something that was very interesting for Grade 1 was using the ruler and measure various things in our classroom.
English
We tried writing our very own essay about what we have learned this theme. We learned the word draft as in our draft it is okay to write with spelling mistakes and not clean. However, for our presentation they had to refine their penmanship skills to it is easy to read for everyone.
Overall, we had another great unit and we are looking forward for our last two reminding units.
