Every student is unique and so is the way they work!
Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that we are in week two of the term already! We covered a lot of things this week, including writing questions to post on our "wonder wall". We were amazed at some of the questions and we had a great time engaging with peers as we discussed our responses.
In our Unit of Inquiry this week, we continued to explore the central idea by looking at our personal needs and wants. We looked at how they affect us individually, sorted pictures and worked in pairs to create a poster to show our understanding of the concept. Later on in the week, we painted a picture of our ideal communities and discussed ways in which our communities determine how our needs are met.
In English, we continued to develop our reading skills by doing some comprehension passages and discussing our understanding with peers. We also continued to work on our vocabulary as we practiced spelling words and used them to construct oral and written sentences. Later on in the week, we started our first Draw and Tell Stories. We were amazed to see the stories come together on whiteboard to make a final picture.
In Math, we continued to on fractions. We looked at real scenarios and applied our abilities to work with fractions to solve the problems. Later on in the week, we looked at the various aspects of problem solving and made sense of mathematical concepts by applying them to a variety of situations.
